USC Four Takes Second at Pacific Coast Rowing Championships

GOLD RIVER, Calif. - USC's women's rowing second varsity four boat claimed second place in the women's collegiate fours race at the 2013 Pacific Coast Rowing Championships on Lake Natoma on Saturday, May 18. The Women of Troy crossed the finish line with a time of 7:30.50 and were just three seconds out of first place. Stanford's B crew won the race with a time of 7:27.50.
Junior Jaclyn Walles coxed the second varsity four which was stroked by sophomore Katherine Gleadow followed by sophomore starboard Lauren Liedel and senior port Hannah Bowen. Sophomore port Elaine Krebs occupied the bow seat. The Trojans out-raced California's A crew by almost four seconds (7:34.10) and were runaway winners against Stanford's A and C squads as well as Cal's B squad and a boat from San Diego.
