The USC women's water polo team is heading into international waters this summer. A travel and training trip is taking the Trojans to Europe for a journey through Croatia, Italy and Montenegro from June 29-July 18.
On the trip, the Women of Troy will train and scrimmage against the Croatian National Team as well as women's club teams in various cities. The group's first stop will be Zagreb, Croatia, where the Trojans will take the plunge against the Croatian women's team. Later, in Opatija and also in Split, there will be more action against local teams.
Throughout the trip, USC head coach Jovan Vavic -- a native of the former Yugoslavia -- has lined up several stops for the Women of Troy to experience the beauty and culture of the region. The Plitvice Lakes are known to be some of the most stunning sights in the world. There's also a day boat trip to Venice, Italy, on the agenda, along with time in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and stops in Montenegro's Herceg-Novi, Kotor and Budva.
Stay tuned to the women's water polo page and the USC blog for diaries, photos and updates on the team's European adventures!
