USC was notified by the NCAA today (Nov. 8) that center Omar Oraby had his waiver petition approved and he will be eligible for competition immediately.
Oraby, a 7-2, 270-pound center from Cairo, Egypt, transfered to USC in September after playing two seasons at Rice. Last season for the Owls he averaged 6.0 points and 3.6 rebounds, while setting the school single-season blocks record with 54.
Oraby will be able to play for the Trojans when they host Coppin State at the Galen Center tomorrow (Nov. 9) in the season-opener.
