More U.S. Open Action For Trojans

After each took tough five-set losses in their respective U.S. Open first round singles matches, Trojans Steve Johnson and Robert Farah still have more U.S. Open competition ahead. Both players now have doubles matches on their agendas, kicking of first round doubles play tomorrow (Sept. 1) in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
2011 NCAA Singles champ Steve Johnson is teamed up with fellow countryman Denis Kudla for a first round bout with No. 12 seeded Brazilians Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares. The American pair is lined up to play on Court 9 in a match to begin after 1 p.m. ET. Johnson also has mixed doubles in the cards on the same court later that day, as the Trojan senior is paired with former Georgia Tech All-American Irina Falconi for a matchup with Horia Tecau of Romania and his Czech teammate Andrea Hlavackova.
Former Trojan Robert Farah, meanwhile, joins forces with his fellow Colombian teammate Juan Sebastian Cabal for the morning kickoff match on Court 10, going up against the USA's Jeff Dadamo and Austin Krajicek.
