Two Trojans Called To USA U-20 Camp

As the collegiate soccer season draws quickly closer, two USC women's soccer players have been called in for early duty. Making their first appearances as members of the U.S. Women's Under-20 Team pool, Trojan forward Haley Boysen and goalkeeper Shelby Church are in the mix for this week's training camp at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
The U.S. Under-20 squad is taking steps toward preparation for qualification for next year's FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. So before the Women of Troy settle in at McAlister Field for the opening of 2011 action, Boysen and Church will team up early with the pool of talent training for the U-20 team, helmed by April Heinrichs.
Boysen and Church were both key newcomers to the Trojan roster last season as freshmen, standing out as impact players on each end of the field. Both earned postseason honors on TopDrawerSoccer's All-Rookie teams after Church hauled in 82 saves with eight shutouts and Boysen provided three goals and two assists as first-year Trojans in 2010. Boysen also is coming off a summer club season in which she helped her Eagles Under-23 team win its second straight USASA national title and become the first team ever to win four age specific United States National Championships.
