USC Adds Allen To 2011 Basketball Recruiting Class

Guard Greg Allen of Navarro College in Texas has signed a national letter of intent (NLI) and will join USC's strong 2011 basketball recruiting class it was announced today (April 13) by men's basketball head coach Kevin O'Neill.
"We are excited to have Greg join our program," said O'Neill. "He has the ability to shoot the ball and defend the opposition's best player which will be important and allow him to make an immediate impact on our program. He's a great kid with an amazing work ethic and we are excited about him becoming a Trojan."
Allen averaged 11.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game for for Navarro College (20-11) and helped lead them to the quarterfinals of the Region 14 junior college tournament. In his two seasons at Navarro, Allen's team won 50 games and the 2010 team advanced to the NJCAA Final Four. Allen made 63 three-point baskets last season, hitting at nearly a 40 percent clip from beyond the arc.
The 6-3 Allen played high school basketball at Eureka High in Eureka, Calif. and was a three-time Humboldt-Del Norte MVP. His senior season at Eureka, he averaged 25.1 points.
USC's 2011 incoming class also includes wing Byron Wesley from Etiwanda High in Calif., guard Alexis Moore from Long Beach Poly in Calif. and center James Blasczyk from Lee College in Texas. USC will also have the services next season of forward Dewayne Dedmon and forward Aaron Fuller, both who transfered to USC and practiced with the Trojans last season.
Wesley, a 6-5, 210 pound wing is ranked as the No. 1 player in the state by Cali High Sports and received a 91 out of 100 on the ESPN scouts grade. Wesley averaged 19.2 points as a senior and was also named to the first team Best In the West squad by the Long Beach Press-Telegram. Etiwanda went 24-10 and lost to Long Beach Poly in the round of 16 in the California State Championships.
Moore, a 6-2, 180 pound guard was ranked by Cali High Sports as the No. 14 player in the state and he was named to the Best in the West second team. He led Long Beach Poly to a 28-5 record and to the Elite Eight in the California State Championships where they fell to eventual champion Westchester. Moore averaged 9.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists as a senior.
Blasczyk, a 7-1 260-pound center, is at Lee College in Baytown, Texas, following one season at Texas A&M (2009-10). He appeared in 13 games for the Aggies in 2008, playing a total of 20 minutes. Blasczyk was a redshirt at Texas A&M during the 2008-09 season. His senior season at Friendswood High he averaged 14.6 points and 9.7 rebounds a game and was named district defensive player of the year. TexasHoops.com rated him as one of the top 50 prospects in the state of Texas as a high school senior.
Dedmon played the 2009-10 season at Antelope Valley and helped lead the team to a 17-14 record while averaging 6.6 points and 7.8 rebounds. He also had 46 blocks and tied the school record with seven blocks in a game. He transfered to USC in January and practiced with the team the second semester.
Fuller transferred from Iowa where he was a 2010 Big Ten honorable mention forward to USC and sat out last season. He practiced with USC last season and will be eligible next season. He averaged 9.7 points and a team-leading 6.2 reboundsin 2010 as a sophomore for the Hawkeyes.
