USC Men's Swimming Fall Short Against Stanford

Palo Alto, Calif. - - Alex Lendrum won three events on Saturday, but the USC men's swimming team could not beat Stanford.
Lendrum, a sophomore, took first in the 100-yard backstroke (49.19 seconds), the 200-yard backstroke (one minute, 46.29 seconds), and led a USC sweep in the 200-yard individual medley (1:51.40). Freshman Jack Wagner (1:54.42) and junior Will Orlady (1:58.96) helped the Trojans complete the sweep in the IM.
The No. 2-ranked Stanford team won the dual meet, 162-116, which was held at the Avery Aquatics Center at Stanford.
Junior Harrison Jones won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
Senior Clement Lefert also won the 200-yard freestyle (1:37.35), and finished second in the 500- yard freestyle (4:25.83).
Sophomore Charlie Charlesworth finished second in the 1,650-yard freestyle (15:18.75). Senior Dillon Connolly (55.38) and sophomore Justin DiFederico (1:49.28) also finished second in the 100-yard breastroke and 200-yard butterfly respectively.
Next up for the Trojans: the Pac-10 Diving Championships, Feb. 24-26 in Federal Way, Wash.; and the Pac-10 Swimming Championships, March 2-5 in Long Beach.
