Junior Harrison Jones claimed his third career Pac-10 title to kick off the four-day Pac-10 Men's and Women's Diving Championships, being held concurrently with the Pac-10 Women's Swimming Championships, on Wednesday (Feb. 23) at the Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
Jones, who won his first U.S. national title recently at the U.S. Winter Nationals, successfully defended his 2010 title in the 1-meter springboard with 435.00 points. Senior teammate Steven Starks was fourth (372.25), his ninth top 8 finish at Pac-10s in 10 events.
Said USC head diving coach Hongping Li: "Harrison dove with a build-up of confidence that he got from winning at nationals. It was another well-done performance Harrison put together at this level of competition."
The win was USC's 29 overall Pac-10 diving title, 12th on 1-meter.
