
Hosszu, Ishimatsu Earn Pac-12 Monthly Honors

USC seniors Katinka Hosszu and Victoria Ishimatsu were named the Pac-12 Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Month for November, the conference announced on Wednesday (Dec. 7).
Hosszu got the Trojans off to a 4-0 start with dual meet wins over Washington State (twice), Arizona and Arizona State. She won eight races, posting NCAA `B' cut times in all but one of those races. Against the Cougars, Hosszu captured the 400y IM (4:12.23), 100y free (52.55) and 200y fly (1:57.12). She also won three events at Arizona, taking the 200y free (1:46.15), 200y back (1:57.76) and 400 IM (4:12.97). Hosszu won the 200y free (1:46.83) and 200y breast (2:13.32) against the Sun Devils. It is Hosszu's fourth such award.
Hosszu was also selected as CollegeSwimming.com's Swimmer of the Week for her superlative performance at the Texas Invitational in Austin Dec. 1-3. She broke her own school records in the 200y IM (1:52.71), 400y IM (3:58.86) and 200y free (1:44.01) and missed by 0.01 from tying her record in the 200y fly (1:51.03). All were NCAA `A' cuts.
Ishimatsu won her conference record sixth monthly honor after winning seven events in November, sweeping Arizona and Arizona State and all three events at the USC Diving Invitational. She scored 306.95 on the 1-meter, 333.35 on the 3-meter and 254.25 on the platform for wins in the Trojans' meet. She won the springboard events in dual meets against the Arizona schools, tallying 296.93 on the 1-meter and 308.63 on the 3-meter against the Wildcats and 321.53 and 345.38 against the Sun Devils.
