USC Picked Third In 2010 Pac-10 Preseason Coaches' Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- In a polling of the Pac-10 Conference's women's volleyball coaches, USC was picked third in the 2010 preseason coaches' poll as the Trojans garnered 70 points and two first-place votes behind four-time defending conference champion Stanford and Washington.
The Trojans return nine letterwinners from last year's squad, including junior All-American Alex Jupiter and junior setter Kendall Bateman, who led the nation in assists per set. USC also features the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation, according to Prep Volleyball.
The Pac-10, which has dominated the sport of women's volleyball for over a decade, is coming off one of its most successful seasons after earning eight NCAA Tournament bids last year, tying a Conference record.
USC opens the 2010 season with the Luxe City Center Trojan Invitational, Friday-Saturday (August 27-28) at the Galen Center, featuring Bucknell, Cal State Fullerton and Loyola Marymount.
