Host Of Trojans Set For U.S. Nationals

More than 20 current, incoming and former Trojan swimmers will descend on Irvine, Calif., for the next two weeks as the Southern California city hosts the 2010 U.S. Summer Nationals, Aug. 3-7, as well as the Pan Pacific Championships, Aug. 18-22, both at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center.
Four 2010 All-Americans will be competing for the Trojans, including Haley Anderson, Presley Bard, Lyndsay DePaul and Jessica Schmitt. Former Trojan Olympic gold medalist and current assistant coach Rebecca Soni will also be in action.
On the men's side, 2010 NCAA Championship participants Dillon Connolly, Alex Lendrum and Patrick White are among the USC swimmers competing.
Among the incoming Trojans competing are 2009 World Championship medalist Kasey Carlson as well as standouts Chase Bloch, Meghan Hawthorne, Nick Johnson, Amanda Smith and Jack Wagner.
The competition will be broadcast by NBC in two shows on Aug. 7 and 8. The NBC show on Aug. 7 will air from 4-6 p.m. ET and the show on Aug. 8 will air from 4:30 to 6 p.m. ET. In addition, Universal Sports will broadcast finals LIVE on August 3 (6-8:30 p.m. PT) and 4 (6 - 8 p.m. PT). The meet will also be webcast LIVE by Swimnetwork.com throughout the duration of the competition.
Not long after the U.S. Nationals start, a handful of USC swimmers will compete overseas. Trojans Clement Lefert (France), Katinka Hosszu and Zoltan Povazsay (Hungary), Richard Charlesworth (England) and incoming freshman Dimitri Colupaev (Germany) are scheduled to compete at the European Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Aug. 8-15.
