USC sophomore opposite hitter Sean Dennis has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Co-Player of the Week for his performances in the Trojans' 3-0 road sweeps at Pacific and No. 8 Stanford.
The wins moved USC to within a half-match of first place in the MPSF. At 6-1, the Trojans are off to their best MPSF start since going 7-0 in 2001.
In the Pacific match, Dennis had a match-high 13 kills while hitting .357 and added a match-best 11 digs. At Stanford, he had 13 kills (hitting .385), 8 digs and a match-high 5 blocks.
Dennis is the second Trojan honored by the MPSF this year. Soph outside hitter Murphy Troy has twice been named MPSF Co-Player of the Week in 2009 (Jan. 12 and Feb. 9).
