The USC women's water polo team has added even more talent to an already strong class of incoming athletes for 2009, as standout goalie Amanda Hardy has signed on to join the Women of Troy, USC head coach Jovan Vavic has announced. A powerful player out of Long Beach Wilson High School, Hardy joins a set of nine other signees coming to Troy next season: Kristine Cato, Nadia Dan, Kara-Leigh Huse, Emily Klug, Alexandra Powers, Paige Squiller, Briana Vogelzang, Sarah Welty and Kendall Wootten.
Hardy's addition to the group makes it a grand total of four Wilson players joining the Trojan roster. Vogelzang, Welty and Wootten also hail from the Long Beach power, which reached the CIF semifinals in February. Hardy stands out as a member of the U.S. Youth National Team and also was named to the All-CIF First Team this season.
"Amanda is very athletic and very quick in the cage," Vavic said of Hardy. "She can dominate a game and is arguably the top goalie in this class. She's a great addition to our team."
