The USC women's water polo team will add three strong newcomers to its 2010 roster thanks to the signings of Nicolina McCall, Blair Moody and Dominique Sardo to national letters of intent, USC head coach Jovan Vavic has announced.
Both Sardo and Moody are members of the U.S. Junior National Team, and McCall was a first-team All-CIF selection as a junior out of Newport Harbor High School.
"McCall scored the winning goal for Newport Harbor in their CIF title match last year," Vavic said of the Huntington Beach, Calif., native. "She plays two meters and can be used as utility. She's a hard worker and is crafty."
Sardo also has been active with the U.S. National B Team and is a driver hailing from Bishop's School in San Diego, Calif. Moody comes to USC from Northern California as a driver out of Rio Americano High School in Sacramento, Calif. The two junior national teamers are lined up to be impact players for the Women of Troy.
"Sardo is a scorer," Vavic said. "She's very tough, is a good defender, and she is fast. Moody is one of the best defenders in this class. She's also very tough and fast, and is a great team player."
