USC Goes Big In Exhibition Match At Hawai'i

HONOLULU - The top-ranked USC women's water polo team closed out a week of training in Hawai'i over Spring Break with a 19-15 exhibition victory on Saturday (March 18) at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatics Complex.
The Trojans and the Rainbow Wahine engaged in four 11-minute periods of exhibition play. The Women of Troy jumped ahead 4-1 in the first frame and took a 10-5 halftime lead. In the third period, Erika Figge went off for three goals, running her exhibition tally to four goals. Anna Pardo joined Figge with four after punching in one last goal during the fourth period of play.
Hawai'i was able to pick up the scoring pace in the final frame, outscoring USC 9-3 to come out from a 16-6 deficit to make it 19-15 USC at the close of the extended competition.
The Women of Troy return to competition with a pair of MPSF matches this weekend. USC faces No. 12 Long Beach State at noon on Saturday (March 25) in Long Beach, Calif., and then travels to Tempe, Ariz., to take on No. 10 Arizona State at 11 a.m. MT on Sunday (March. 26).
