
Lovemark Leads Troy At The Prestige At PGA West

Freshman Jamie Lovemark posted a 4-over 148 to lead the No. 1 Trojans through the first 36 holes of the The Prestige at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif., on Monday (Oct. 16).
USC finished with a combined 597 (294-303, +21), tied for eighth, 28 shots behind leader Stanford (569), playing on the par-72, 7,156-yard Greg Norman Course.
Lovemark, the No. 1 rated golfer by Golfweek.com, opened with a par 72 and followed with a 76 to tie for 27th overall, 11 strokes behind individual leader Jay Choe of UC Irvine.
Freshman Rory Hie rebounded from an opening-round 80 to finish with a 1-under 71 and birdied the 2nd and 16th holes both rounds. On the flip side, senior Jordan Nasser carded a solid 1-over 73 to open play and followed it with a 78. Both golfers finished with a combined 151 (+7), tied for 42nd.
Senior Joshua Wooding was tied for eighth after carding a 1-under 71 to start play, but his second-round 82 left him with a 153 (+9), tied for 48th.
Sophomore Tom Glissmeyer posted back-to-back rounds of 78 for a combined 156 (+14) and is tied for 57th in the 78-person field.
The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday (Oct. 17).
