
USC Earns At-Large Berth To 2005 NCAA Championship

LOS ANGELES -- The USC women's water polo team will defend its national championship this weekend at the 2005 NCAA Championship in Ann Arbor, Michigan, after the Women of Troy received an at-large berth in the eight-team tournament today.
USC (23-4) will face No. 7 seed University of Redlands (19-11) on Friday (May 13) in a single-elimination tournament at 3 p.m. The tournament will take place at Canham Natatorium on the campus of the University of Michigan.
This is the fifth NCAA Championship and the first under the new eight-team format. USC became the first team in four years to go undefeated last season as the Women of Troy went 29-0 to earn the school's second national championship.
