
No. 2 USC Places Third At 2005 MPSF Championship

BERKELEY, Calif. -- The No. 2 USC Trojans finished the MPSF Championship with a 12-6 win over the No. 4 Hawaii Rainbow Wahine in Sunday's third-place match. Four players scored two goals each as the Women of Troy will await word when the 2005 NCAA Tournament bracket will be announced tomorrow.
USC scored five goals in the first period, holding a 7-2 lead at halftime.
This season will be the first one played under the newly-expanded eight-team bracket. The NCAA Championship will be held in Ann Arbor, Michigan, hosted by the University of Michigan.
