USC Men's Volleyball Beats No. 11 Pacific

Joao Grangeiro and Pedro Leal each had 14 kills and 3 aces to lead the unranked USC men's volleyball team to a 19-30, 30-27, 30-27, 30-23 upset over No. 11 Pacific in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Friday (March 18) in USC's North Gym.
USC improved to 7-18 overall and 3-14 in the MPSF. The Tigers fell to 12-12 and 6-10.
Grangeiro also had 10 digs, while Trojan teammates Andrew Vernon and Fernando Barron added 12 kills each (Vernon hit .526 and had 4 blocks, while Barron had 9 digs), Chris McKniff had a match-high 7 blocks and Evan Burden had a match-best 14 digs.
For Pacific, Brian Zodrow had 16 kills and 6 digs, while Nils Dauburs had 14 kills (hitting .435) and 6 blocks.
USC next hosts No. 9 Stanford in its home finale on March 26 at 7 p.m. in the Lyon Center.
