Sandeno, Staley Win At Auburn

Junior co-captain Kaitlin Sandeno and senior co-captain Trent Staley both posted wins on the first day of competition at No. 1 ranked Auburn, but the deep Tigers held big leads in both the men's and women's meet halfway through the two-day event on Saturday (Jan. 17) in Auburn, Ala.
The Tigers' men lead 119-49 after the first day while the women are ahead 128-39.
Sandeno won the 200m fly (LC) in 2:13.86 while Staley won the 200m back in 2:04.24.
But in a meet that also featured Trojan Club star swimmer Lindsay Benko and North Baltimore Aquatics star Michael Phelps, Auburn's depth proved too much in the dual-meet scoring.
Freshman Kalyn Keller was fourth in the 400m free (4:18.34) while sophomore Ous Mellouli was second in the 400m free (4:00.33). Sophomore Tyler Storie was also fourth in the 200m fly (2:10.59).
The meet continues on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. PST.
