LOS ANGELES (AP) - Desmon Farmer scored 21 of his game-high 23 points in the first half to lead USC to an 81-59 rout of Lafayette Sunday night.
Farmer scored 13 points in the first 6:25 as USC (5-4) built a 19-0 lead. The senior guard made his first four shots, including three from 3-point range.
Jeff McMillan added 18 points for the Trojans.
Justin DeBerry scored 14 points for the Leopards (8-2), whose eight-game winning streak ended. Sean Knitter and Andrei Capusan added 11 points apiece.
Lafayette missed its first 11 field-goal attempts and failed to score for nearly seven minutes to start the game.
The Leopards used an 11-0 run to narrow their deficit to 23-15 with 7:36 left in the first half.
But the Trojans responded with a 14-0 run that extended their lead to 37-15 with 4:50 left before halftime. Farmer had six points and McMillan scored four points during the run.
