USC HEAD COACH DICK LEACH: "This is my Cinderella team. I'm glad we got it done before midnight. We might have had some pumpkins. My No. 2 doubles played their best match in a long time. The team winning doubles got us off to a great start. It was our best doubles and probably our best singles all year. This is unbelievable. I keep pinching myself. I was 0-5 in Georgia until I won in 1991 and 1993. (Playing there) would have been tough, but I think our boys would have thought those dog chants would have been for us. We have been good on the road this year. I'm coming to College Station to retire!"
USC'S PRAKASH ARMITRAJ (TOURNAMENT MVP): "These past two days I really didn't give us much of a chance after losing the doubles point. We came out really fired up today. I have played a lot of breakers all season. When you've played for an hour and it is six all, it is hard to pass up."
GEORGIA HEAD COACH MANUEL DIAZ: "USC came out prepared. They had lots of fire and energy. We definitely did not have our legs under us. I think playng the late matches took its toll on us. Our guys deserve lots of credit. They played their hearts out. I've been at it for over 20 years and last night (against No. 4 UCLA) was some of the best tennis I've ever seen. It was such an emotional match. It took so much out of us. We felt very confident that after the doubles point we could take four straight singles matches. We were sluggish in doubles which I thought we would break out of but that never happened. That's not to take anything away from USC. They played a great match and deserve it."
