In Saturday's other action, No. 9 UC Santa Barbara beat No. 12 Cal State Northridge, 12-1; No. 10 UC Irvine defeated No. 11 Pacific, 13-11; No. 4 California beat No. 8 Hawaii, 6-4; and No. 6 San Jose State defeated No. 7 San Diego State, 5-4.
The Cardinal and Bruins will meet on Sunday (April 28) at 4:15 p.m., with the winner getting an automatic berth into the 4-team NCAA Championship on May 11-12, also at USC. Five other games will be played on Sunday, beginning with the 11th place match at 10 a.m. between Pacific and Cal State Northridge, followed by the ninth place game at 11:15 a.m. between UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara, the seventh place game at 12:30 p.m. between San Diego State and Hawaii, the fifth place game at 1:45 p.m. between San Jose State and California and the third place game at 3 p.m. between Long Beach State and USC.

Amber Stachowski's third quarter goal broke a 5-5 tie and then Robin Beauregard scored her third goal of the contest in the fourth quarter to help No. 3-seeded UCLA (20-3) beat No. 2 USC (25-4), 7-6. The Trojans held a 3-1 second quarter lead, but then got outscored 6-2 (the Bruins scored 4 times in the second quarter). Eszter Gyori had 2 goals for USC. UCLA advances to Sunday's (April 28) championship game against Stanford, while USC meets Long Beach State for third place.

The Cardinal led 3-0 in the first quarter, but LBSU pulled to within 5-4 early in the third quarter before Stanford scored 5 unanswered goals. Drue Wawrzynski scored twice for the 49ers. Stanford advances to Sunday's (April 28) championship match against the winner of the USC-UCLA contest, while Long Beach State plays the Trojan-Bruin loser in the third place game.

Christine Welsh scored a backhanded goal with 8 seconds to play to give No. 6-seeded San Jose State (19-11) a 5-4 win over No. 7 San Diego State (19-15). The Spartans overcame a 3-0 second quarter deficit by tying the game at 3-3 in the third quarter on a goal by Stefanie Le Sueur. After Heidi Matsumoto put the Aztecs up 4-3 early in the fourth quarter, Le Sueur's second goal of the day knotted the game with 4:05 to go and set up Welsh's game-winner, her second goal of the contest. Casey Finnegan scored twice for SDSU, both in the first quarter. SJSU advances to Sunday's (April 28) fifth place game against California, while the Aztecs will meet Hawaii for seventh place.

The game was tied at 3-3 early in the third quarter, but Cara Chlebicki scored both of her game's goals to give the Golden Bears a 2-goal lead. Chelsea Garner-Prohs had 2 goals for Hawaii. California advances to Sunday's (April 28) fifth place game against the winner of the San Jose State-San Diego State contest, while Hawaii plays the loser of the Spartan-Aztec game for seventh place.

Erica Horman scored 7 goals to lead No. 10-seeded UC Irvine (15-22) to a 13-11 win over No. 11 Pacific (5-19). Nerissa Reidenbaugh added 3 goals for the Anteaters. For the Tigers, Jessica Schroeder had 5 goals, Stacy Christy had 3 and Amy Valois-Collette had 2. UOP closed to 12-11 with 37 seconds to play on a Schroeder goal, but couldn't score again. UCI advances to Sunday's (April 28) ninth place game against UC Santa Barbara, while Pacific will play for 11th place against Cal State Northridge.

Melissa Hall scored in the first quarter to tie the game at 1-1 for the Matador's only goal. The Gauchos advance to Sunday's (April 28) ninth place game against the winner of the UC Irvine-Pacific game, while CSUN will face the loser of that Anteater-Tiger game in the 11th place game.
