USC HEAD COACH MICK HALEY
"We played quite well. Texas A&M had a nice game plan. They played aggressive. I didn't expect anything less from them. We had a good even match going, then we overpowered them in some rotations. But they never gave up. We had to make some adjustments. But, in the end, we had too many guns for them. I'm please with the win and I'm looking forward to seeing where the regionals will be.
"Yes, we may be playing the best we've played all year.
"Teams are taking their best shots at us. That's a chance for us to see how we respond."
USC OUTSIDE HITTER APRIL ROSS
"We felt like we could play real aggressive, with nothing to lose. It's fun like that. Everyone was confident coming in.
"We have three dominant hitters in the front row all the time. It must be pretty scary for the other team."
"We had to adapt a lot, because we're not used to that style, the smaller, scrappier play.
TEXAS A&M HEAD COACH LAURIE CORBELLI
"We were outmatched at just about every position, in skill and experience, and it showed. There were time when, if we could've passed, we could've broken up their blocking. But it's tough coming into the gym of the No. 1 team.
"We'll look at it as a learning experience. We put ourselves in this position with some losses earlier in the season. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way.
"USC's defense is the best we've seen this year, especially for their size. They move well and have superior ball control. Everything we attacked, they had people where they needed to be. They're one of the top two teams we've seen. Size-wise, skill-wise, power-wise and defense-wise, they're similar to Nebraska.
"When you play a team like this that is big at the net, you have to go against this block and defense and test yourself. We'll watch the tape of this match every day in the spring and remind the players about the kills that they did get against them. We'll make sure they don't forget about it."
