LAURIE CORBELLI, TEXAS A&M HEAD COACH:
"I'm really pleased. As a somewhat inexperienced group, I knew we had to be mentally prepared and focused, and work on our serving and passing. Serving and passing has been a key for us in some big wins recently. Tonight, we were focused and prepared.
"We started off very nervous. I knew it was inexperience. But we were trying very hard. When we got our servers in a rhythm, we were able to keep the errors-to-ace ratio at about 1-to-1 and we were able to pull out the win.
"Our passing was very strong. Munsch and Wynalda passed well, and Achilefu held her own and did a fantastic job.
"I really sensed our confidence in the third game. They didn't want to go in for the break and lose momentum. I challenged them not to let down and they responded.
"We hoped to get the blocking going on Turner. We couldn't in the first two games, but we did a nice job in the third."
BETH LAUNIERE, UTAH HEAD COACH:
"We had no answer for their outside hitters. And we struggled with their jump serving. They were really aggressive and came at us. We were on defense all night. We couldn't get over the hump.
"Game two was critical. They were ready. I felt really confident coming in. We were very evenly matched. Then we let go in game three.
"It was a tough year for us. We had a big bull's eye on our back because of last year's success. But we lost five starters from that team. So we took our punches, like a heavyweight boxer, but we kept getting back up all year. I'm proud of them. We had a great season."
