
Women's Water Polo Wins Rainbow Challenge

HONOLULU - The No. 3 USC women's water polo team continued its dominance in the 4th Annual Rainbow Challenge, defeating No. 7 Hawai'i, 14-6, Saturday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex. The Women of Troy notched a perfect 3-0 record to win the tournament championship. Hawai'i finished runner-up at 2-1.
USC used an aggressive offensive attack to score six goals in the first period. Sofia Konounh, named the tournament's most valuable player, struck for two of her game-high four goals to lead USC.
The Trojans advanced to the championship match with an 18-4 defeat of Cal Baptist earlier in the day.
The Women of Troy return home to begin a five-game homestand, beginning on Thursday (March 22) against Massachusetts.
