Women's Water Polo Begins MPSF Season This Weekend

LOS ANGELES -- The USC women's water polo team will begin Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play this weekend. The Trojans (4-0) opened the 2001 season by winning the UC San Diego Arena NoGrip Tournament last weekend.
USC will travel to UC Santa Barbara for an MPSF match on Saturday at 1 p.m. before returning home for its first match of the season vs. Long Beach State at McDonald's Swim Stadium for an MPSF contest at noon.
The Women of Troy are led by All-Americans Aniko Pelle and Nina Wengst, along with Sofia Konoukh, a member of the Russian team that won the bronze medal at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia.
