USC Men's Volleyball Signs Four

LOS ANGELES - Four top players - Peter Jordan, Michael Hickman, Ian Gallagher and Owen Hanson - have signed letters of intent with the USC men's volleyball team, Trojan head coach Pat Powers announced today.
Jordan, a 6-3 outside hitter/libero, was the 1999 All-CIF Division II MVP while at San Marcos High in Santa Barbara, Calif. Prior to that he attended Grants Pass (Ore.) High and San Clemente (Calif.) High. He graduated from San Marcos in 1999 and sat out this past season while working.
Hickman, a 6-5 opposite hitter/middle blocker from Castle Hills First Baptist High in San Antoinio, Tex, was An All-State and two-time All-District selection.
Gallagher, a 6-5 setter from Bishop Montgomery High in Torrance, Calif., made the 1999 All-CIF Division II second team and All-Del Rey League first team while recording 865 assists and 35 aces. He sat out his 2000 senior season with a torn knee ligament.
Hanson, a 6-4 outside hitter/opposite hitter from Redondo (Calif.) Union High, made the 1999 All-Bay League first team and South Bay Daily Breeze All-South Bay second team while notching 149 kills, 118 digs, 101 blocks and 55 aces.
USC finished the 2000 season ranked third nationally after going 22-5 overall and sharing the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation's Pacific Division title. For the second year in a row, the Trojans were a victory away from advancing to the NCAA Final Four.
