Former Women of Troy Join WNBA

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Two former USC women's basketball players - Adrain Williams and Nicky McCrimmon -- were selected today (April 25) in the 2000 WNBA draft.
The Phoenix Mercury selected Williams, a 6-4 forward/center who graduated in 1999, in the second round. As the 23rd overall pick, Williams will join Phoenix head coach Cheryl Miller, the former USC All-American and head coach.
McCrimmon, a 5-8 guard, was chosen in the fourth round (63rd pick overall) by the Los Angeles Sparks. McCrimmon played with the Women of Troy for two seasons (1992-94).
Williams and McCrimmon will join three USC alumni playing in the WNBA: Lisa Leslie (Los Angeles), Cynthia Cooper (Houston), Tina Thompson (Houston).
