
USC Falls To UCLA, 10-8

LOS ANGELES - Freshman Jessica Lopez scored three goals to lead the No. 3 UCLA Bruins to a 10-8 victory Thursday over the host No. 4 USC Trojans in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match at McDonald's Swim Stadium. UCLA has won all three meetings this season between the two teams.
Freshman Katrin Dierolf (Esslingen, Germany) led the Women of Troy with three goals while sophomores Nina Wengst (Krefeld, Germany) and Aniko Pelle (Budapest, Hungary) scored twice.
Down 1-0 after the first period, the Bruins exploded for four goals in the second and third periods. Both teams scored three times each in the first 2:30 of the third period.
USC will not play again until March 24 when they travel to California for an MPSF match, beginning at 5 p.m.
