LOS ANGELES - Sophomore utility Aniko Pelle (Budapest, Hungary) scored six goals to lead No. 2 USC to a 13-7 victory over No. 7 Hawai'i in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match Thursday at McDonald's Swim Stadium.
USC (9-1 overall, 4-0 MPSF) scored the first four goals in the match before Hawai'i outscored the Trojans, 3-2, in the second period to cut the lead to 6-4 at halftime. After a goal by Hawai'i's Lisa De Rossi cut the lead to one, the Trojans put the match away with five unanswered goals. Hawai'i drops to 6-2 overall and 1-2 in MPSF play.
The Women of Troy travel to the UC Santa Barbara Tournament this weekend.
