Women's Water Polo Wins Twice at MPSFs

WESTWOOD, Calif. - The top-ranked USC women's water polo team posted two victories on the first day of the MPSF Championships at UCLA, defeating San Jose State, 9-4, and Hawaii, 15-6.
The Women of Troy improved to 22-1 overall. They face Long Beach State (at 11:50 a.m.) and UCLA (at 4:10 p.m.) on Saturday. With two more victories, USC will move into Sunday's championship game.
In the win over San Jose State, USC went on a 7-0 run to take an 8-1 lead in the third quarter. Jennifer Durley, Selah Mapes and Nina Wengst each scored two goals.
Against Hawaii, USC took an 8-2 halftime lead and a 13-2 lead after three periods. Wengst scored three goals, while Durley, Aniko Pelle, Christine Zador and Sandra Milicev each scored two goals.
