Women's Water Polo Wins First Game as #1 Team

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Six different players scored for the USC women's water polo team as it defeated UC Santa Barbara, 6-5, in the first game since USC earned its first-ever No. 1 ranking.
USC improved to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, while UCSB fell to 2-4, 0-1.
USC took a 6-3 lead after three quarters and held on for the victory.
Jennifer Durley, Aniko Pelle, Selah Mapes, Kellie Clarke, Suzannah Johnson and Lisa Saenz scored for USC. Bernice Orwig made five saves.
The Women of Troy host California on Friday (Feb. 26) at the McDonald's Swim Stadium at 5 p.m.
