LOS ANGELES- Twelve women's water polo teams have earned berths for the National Collegiate Championships at the USC McDonald's Swim Stadium on May 8-10.
- Tournament host USC, MPSF and West Region champion UCLA, Stanford, California, Hawaii, San Diego State and UC Santa Barbara qualified out of the West Regional Tournament.
- UMass, Maryland and Princeton qualified out of the East Regional Tournament.
- Indiana and Michigan qualified out of the Midwest Regional Tournament.
UCLA, the two-time defending champion, is the top seed, while Stanford, California and Hawaii are the Nos. 2-4 seeds, respectively.
The tournament will start at 9 a.m. on Friday (May 8) at Long Beach State, due to a conflict with USC's graduation ceremony. Six games will be played in Long Beach. Beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, all other games will be played at USC. Saturday's games start at noon and Sunday's begin at 9 a.m. The championship will be held on Sunday (May 10) at 3 p.m.
Ticket prices are $10 for a day pass and $25 for a three-day pass. Tickets will only be sold at the door.
Because there are not enough Division I and II schools that sponsor women's water polo, it is not yet an NCAA championship event.
