Water Polo Captures Rainbow Challenge Title

HONOLULU - The No. 1 USC women's water polo team won the Rainbow Challenge, hosted by Hawaii, over the weekend, beating three MPSF rivals to do so.
On Friday, the Women of Troy beat San Diego State, 12-5, then came back on Saturday to defeat Hawaii, 10-5, and Long Beach State, 13-2.
Sophomore 2M Jennifer Durley was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. She was joined on the all-tournament team by senior goalie Bernice Orwig and freshman UT Aniko Pelle.
Pelle and freshman UT Sandra Milicev led USC with six goals each over the three games. Durley and freshman 2M Nina Wengst each had five.
USC is now 17-1 overall, 5-1 in the MPSF.
The Women of Troy take a break until Monday, March 29, when they host Pacific at 4 p.m.
