LOS ANGELES--Marcus Gilmour, a 6-8 outside hitter from Santa Ynez (Calif.) High, has signed a national letter of intent with the USC men's volleyball team, Trojan head coach Pat Powers announced today.
Gilmour earned 1998 All-CIF Division III second team and All-League first team honors as Santa Ynez advanced to the CIF finals. He also participated in the 1998 Junior Olympics, where he helped his team to a ninth-place finish.
An honor student at Santa Ynez, he started at quarterback on the football team and set a school record for most completions in a game (18). Several dozen of his relatives attended USC, including his mother and father.
