Schools keep adding women's water polo teams and more young women are getting involved with it, helping the sport to flourish.

That's good news for fans in Southern California this season, as USC will host the Division I National Championships at the McDonald's Swim Stadium on May 8-10.

That's perhaps not-so-good news for the host Women of Troy, as it's going to be tougher to make it into their own tournament. But after qualifying in 1997 and taking seventh place, they just might be up to the challenge again in 1998.
