Scalabrine Named Men's Hoops' MVP

LOS ANGELES - Sophomore forward/center Brian Scalabrine, who led the Trojans in scoring (14.6), rebounds (6.4), minutes (869) and field goal percentage (.531, 152-286), was named the Most Valuable Player of the USC mens basketball team at the annual awards banquet Monday night (April 12) at Town and Gown on campus.
Scalabrine, the 1999 Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year, was also second in assists (68) and made 103-of-130 (.792) free throws.
Junior forward Jarvis Turner was named the Most Inspirational Player for the second consecutive year while freshman David Bluthenthal received the 110% Effort Award.
