San Diego - Eli Fairfield had a match-high 24 kills and Brook Billings added 22 kills to lead the No. 10-ranked USC men's volleyball team to a 15-5, 15-17, 15-5, 15-8 victory at San Diego State in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Wednesday (April 7).
USC moved to 13-9 overall and 9-7 in the MPSF, while San Diego State dropped to 2-16 overall and 2-14 in the MPSF.
Fairfield added a match-best 7 digs to go along with 3 aces. Teammate Donald Suxho converted all 10 of his attempts into successful kills and had a match-high 4 aces. USC served 13 aces and outhit San Diego State, .400 to .262.
Tom Hunter had 22 kills and 7 blocks for the Aztecs.
USC, in the hunt for a berth in the upcoming MPSF tournament, plays at Cal State Northridge (2-19, 1-15) on Saturday (April 10), then closes out its regular season with a pair of matches at Hawaii next weekend.
