Men's Volleyball Sweeps Stanford on the Road

STANFORD, Calif. - Brook Billings had 17 kills and hit .538 as the No. 10-ranked USC men's volleyball team snapped a three-match losing streak by sweeping No. 12 Stanford, 16-14, 15-7, 15-6, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match Thursday night in Palo Alto.
USC improved to 7-4 overall and 6-3 in the MPSF, while the Cardinal dropped its third straight to fall to 4-7 overall and 3-7 in the MPSF. Eli Fairfield, sidelined with the flu in USC's last match (a five-game heartbreaking loss to Long Beach State), returned and had 11 kills. For Stanford, USC transfer Gabe Gardner had 17 kills and Patrick Klein, the son of former Trojan tight end Bob Klein, added 15 kills. USC outhit Stanford, .400 to .289.
The Trojans play at No. 14 Pacific on Friday (Feb. 26), then return home for a match against No. 4 Pepperdine on Tuesday (March 2) at 7 p.m. in the North Gym.
