Men's Volleyball Ends Regular Season with Win at Hawaii

Brook Billings had a career-best and match-high 37 kills and Eli Fairfield added 29 kills to lead the No. 10-ranked USC men's volleyball team to a 15-8, 8-15, 15-13, 5-15, 15-13 win over No. 7 Hawaii in a regular season-ending Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match in Honolulu on Saturday (April 17)
The victory broke USC's 9-match losing streak to the Rainbows and was Troy's first win over Hawaii in Honolulu since 1991.
It also gave USC, which improved to 15-10 overall and 11-8 in the MPSF, a berth in the upcoming MPSF Tournament. Hawaii, which suffered its first home loss in 12 matches, dropped to 18-9 overall and finished tied with USC for second in the MPSF Pacific Division at 11-8.
USC will go to Pepperdine on Saturday (April 24) for a first round match in the MPSF tourney, the Trojans' first appearance in the MPSF championships after a 3-year drought. Hawaii will host UCLA, also on Saturday.
Billings hit .357 in the match and also had a match-high 14 digs along with 9 blocks. Fairfield had 10 digs and 6 blocks.
Beau Rawi added 16 kills for the Trojans, while brother Omar Rawi had 13 kills, 12 digs and 8 blocks and Trevor Julian had 12 kills.
For Hawaii, which outhit (.321 to .282) and outblocked (29.5 to 17.5) USC, Brenton Davis had 28 kills while hitting .373, Dejan Miladinovic had 27 kills (hitting .451) and 9 blocks, and Andre Breuer had 21 kills and a match-high 12 blocks.
