Men's Hoops Knocks off UC Santa Barbara, 79-73

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Jeff Trepagnier's dunk with 6:37 remaining in the game started a 9-2 USC run that carried the Trojans to a 79-73 victory Friday night over UC Santa Barbara.
Brandon Granville scored 22 points and had eight assists for USC, which led 43-40 at halftime, fell behind 44-43 in the first minute of the second half, then didn't trail afterward.
Elias Ayuso added 21 points for the Trojans and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line in the last 20 seconds as USC sealed the victory.
USC (5-0) scored 36 of its points on 3-point baskets, going 12-of-28. Granville finished 5-for-9.
B.J. Bunton led UCSB (0-6) with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Merrill had 19 points in the loss, and Derrick Allen had eight assists.
After falling behind 36-26 with 7:16 left in the first half, Bunton scored six points to key a 12-4 run that brought the Gauchos within 40-38 with 1:02 left before halftime.
