Fairfield Leads Men's Volleyball to Sweep of Pacific

LOS ANGELES- Eli Fairfield had a match-high 16 kills to lead the No. 11 USC men's volleyball team to a 15-6, 15-8, 15-6 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation sweep of No. 14 Pacific on Friday (Feb. 5) in USC's North Gym. USC improved to 5-1 overall (its best start since a similar mark in 1995) and 4-0 in the MPSF (its best league start since going 9-0 in 1994). Pacific fell to 2-2 and 0-2.

Brook Billings added 14 kills while teammate Trevor Julian notched 10 kills for the Trojans.

Tim Jenson led the Tigers with 15 kills. Troy took control from the outset behind the hitting of Fairfield, who had a match-best .652 attack percentage. USC as a team had a season-high .452 attack percentage, while Pacific hit .155. The Trojans have swept three of their last four matches. USC next hosts No. 7 Stanford on Saturday (Feb. 6) at 7 p.m. in the North Gym.
