Brook Billings Leads Men's Volleyball to Road Win

LOS ANGELES - Santa Barbara native Brook Billings returned home and had 32 kills while hitting .553, both career highs, to lead the No. 10 USC men's volleyball team to a 15-9, 8-15, 15-10, 15-6 win at UC Santa Barbara in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Thursday (March 11).
The Trojans upped their record to 9-7 overall and 7-6 in the MPSF, while the Gauchos lost for sixth straight time to fall to 4-11 and 3-11.
Eli Fairfield added 19 kills and hit .412 for Troy, while Omar Rawi had 11 kills and 6 blocks.
UC Santa Barbara was led by David Kohl (23 kills, .476, 11 digs) and Kevin Collins (18 kills).
USC will spend its spring break next week participating in the IPFW Spring Fling in Fort Wayne, Ind., facing Ball State on Friday (March 19) and then No. 6 Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne, the tourney's host, on Saturday (March 20).
