Alumni Defeat USC Baseball Team, 10-4

LOS ANGELES - The USC baseball team got solo home runs from junior C Eric Munson and freshman OF Brian Barre, but the Trojan alumni team earned a 10-4 victory at Dedeaux Field on Sunday in the annual game.
The alumni's power came from Marc Mirizzi (1996-97), who hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth and Jason Saenz (a pitcher from 1997-98), who hit a solo shot in the sixth inning.
The alumni were aided by a generous set of rules, including six-out innings and no breaking-ball pitches.
Freshman 3B Beau Craig had a triple and a single for the 1999 Trojans.
Saenz, Jay Jaffe (1968-69), Chad Moeller (1994-96) and Morgan Ensberg (1995-98) each had two hits for the alumni.
The Trojans open the 1999 regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 2 against Cal State Dominguez Hills at Dedeaux Field at 3 p.m.
