LOS ANGELES (AP) - Jeff Trepagnier scored 20 points to lead Southern California to an 85-56 victory over University of Hawaii Wednesday night.
David Bluthenthal came off the bench to score nine points in the first half and the Trojans used a 14-3 run late in the half to pull ahead of Hawaii for a 42-22 half-time lead.
Brian Scalabrine added 19 points and Sam Clancy had 16 points and 11 rebounds for USC (4-4).
Marquette Alexander led Hawaii (5-2) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. But the Rainbows were not able to match USC's playing power on the court. Hawaii didn't get a field goal until 13:37 in the first half when Johnny White scored on a layup. He finished the night with eight points.
The Rainbows hit only eight of 25 shots in the first half and finished the game shooting 32 percent from the field, compared to USC's 48 percent.
Both teams had difficulties handling the ball. USC committed 19 turnovers and Hawaii turned over the ball 28 times.
