Matt Wells has been with USC Sports Properties (part of Fox Sports College Properties) since 2012, first as director of sales for 4 years (2012-16), then vice president of sales for 2 years (2016-18) and now as vice president of partnership development since 2019.
He began his career on the athletic development staff at Tennessee for a year (2004-05), then was an account executive at Sooner Sports Properties at Oklahoma for a year (2005-06). He then served as assistant general manager at Gamecocks Sports Properties at South Carolina for 2 years (2006-08), associate general manager at Razorback Sports Properties at Arkansas for 2 years (2008-10) and general sales manager for Cal Sports Properties for 2 years (2010-12).
He attended Nevada-Reno in the mid-1990s, where he was a pitcher on the baseball team. Drafted in the fifth round of the 1996 MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants, he then pitched in the minor leagues for 6 seasons (1996 to 2001). He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Sacramento State and an MBA from Belmont in 2004.
