May 25, 2026 | Baseball
LOS ANGELES – The field for the 2026 NCAA Baseball Tournament was released on Monday (May 25) and the USC baseball team was awarded a No. 2 seed in the field. The Trojans will head to the College Station Regional hosted by Texas A&M and will face Texas State in their opening game on Friday (May 29).
USC earned the berth after going 43-15 overall this season and finishing fourth in the Big Ten with a 20-10 conference record. The Trojans' matchup with Texas State will be at 6 p.m. PT and will air on ESPNU. The full regional schedule and ticket information will be available soon.
The 2026 berth is the second in a row for USC as the program made it's return to the postseason last year for the first time since 2015. The back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances are the first for the program since 2001-02. USC made the final of the Corvallis Regional in 2025, eventually falling to host Oregon State in the if necessary game.
The Trojans had a strong case to host a regional this year, finishing the regular season No. 9 in RPI and with the 11th best winning percentage (.741) in the NCAA. USC swept a program-record nine series this year, winning 11 of its 14 series overall on the season.
USC owns the most NCAA Titles of any program in college baseball with 12. The Trojans have made 21 College World Series appearances and own an overall postseason record of 210-79. USC's last CWS appearance was in 2001 and the program's last CWS title was in 1998. This is the 40th NCAA Tournament appearance for the Trojans.
