Ben Goldberg, most recently serving as the women's tennis assistant coach at Pepperdine, was named USC's assistant coach on July 1, 2025.
Goldberg is no stranger to Southern California, as he arrived at USC after spending the past year at Pepperdine and the prior eight years at UCLA as a student-athlete and later coach.
During his one season at Pepperdine (2024-25), the Waves women's tennis team went 15-12 overall and 5-1 in conference play, capturing the WCC Tournament Title. Pepperdine finished 25th in the final ITA team rankings after advancing to the second round of NCAA play.
Golberg was hired as a volunteer assistant in 2021 and later made a full-time assistant coach at UCLA. During his three-year stint as an assistant on the men's tennis team, he helped coach several All-Pac-12 players and NCAA singles qualifiers, including Alexander Hoogmartens and Govind Nanda. Additionally, Goldberg assisted the 2024 Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year Spencer Johnson while at UCLA.
As a student-athlete, Goldberg helped the Bruins win three Pac-12 regular-season titles and one conference tournament title. Over the course of five seasons — which included an extra year of eligibility due to the coronavirus pandemic — Goldberg amassed a 48-43 record in singles play and a 33-36 mark in doubles while moving up the lineup throughout his career.
