After serving as a volunteer assistant for the 2022 women’s soccer season, Cyrus Mohseni was elevated to a full-time assistant coach under USC head coach Jane Alukonis in July 2023. A former pro, Mohseni brings vast experience to his role as goalkeeper coach for the Trojans.
“Cyrus is a special person who helps our players develop on and off the field,” Alukonis said of Mohseni. "He is energetic smart and easy to talk to. He will contribute immensely to the team tactics culture and recruitment. As a former top-level goalkeeper he knows how to create a professional goalkeeping environment that will allow players to maximize their potential.”
A native of Cypress, Calif., Mohseni attended Los Alamitos High and went on to play soccer with clubs in Switzerland such as AC Bellinzona, FC Windisch and FC Basel. After playing in Switzerland, Cyrus moved on to play with Chivas USA and San Jose Earthquakes in the United States. Cyrus also had stints with Heredia in Costa Rica, as well as clubs in Iceland and the Philippines.
In addition to his experience as a professional soccer player, Mohseni has worked in the real estate industry and is a huge believer in giving back through philanthropy. He has led and founded one of the top real estate companies in the country, The Keystone Team, and is the founder of the California-based nonprofit Giving Football Corp., which hosts soccer camps at orphanages around the world with the aim of providing nutritional education and proper training equipment along with fitness and soccer skills to children.
